Development Gateway International is a European affiliate organization of the Development Gateway Foundation, established under the laws of Belgium. It was established in 2007 to further extend the international reach of the foundation and pursue opportunities with organizations and aid agencies in Europe. Located in Brussels, this office builds relations with European stakeholders and participates in the international dialogue on development effectiveness.
European countries are strategic partners for the Development Gateway given their commitment to aid effectiveness. Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Luxembourg are long-standing contributors to the Development Gateway. The European Commission has agreed to favorably consider funding AMP implementations requested by African, Caribbean, and Pacific countries. Development Gateway International has already several projects under way with funding from European donors.
- Belgium will fund the Aid Management Platform implementations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
- The French development agency has contracted Development Gateway International to conduct a feasibility study and then to implement a French-language development portal
- Montenegro is using AMP to manage its ongoing and planned activities funded Luxembourg, United Nations Development Program, United States Agency for International Development, and the European Commission
- Tanzania is implementing an AMP implementation with funding from Switzerland and UNDP
