Catalyst for Development

Thanks to the power of the Internet, organizations dedicated to reducing poverty in developing nations have the potential to touch the lives of more people than ever.

More than half a billion Internet users today are in developing countries, and their numbers continue to grow. As in richer nations, this once unimaginable resource is being harnessed, along with other information and communications technologies (ICT), to improve education, health, agriculture, government, and business — sometimes in surprising ways.

Capturing Momentum

In 2005, a global consensus emerged on the urgency of fighting poverty around the world. International leaders pledged to double aid to Africa and cancel the debt of the world’s poorest countries. Together with developing countries, they also pledged to change how aid is delivered and managed, to ensure greater development impact.

Development Gateway Foundation's programs support these efforts. We target areas where small investments in ICT can make an important difference, and where we can play a facilitating role. Please click here to make a donation to support the work of the Development Gateway Foundation.
