Benin Development Gateway
The Benin Development Gateway provides practical information, links, and case studies for development in key areas, including health, agriculture, microfinance, environment, and education. Services include an e-newsletter on matters related to development in Benin. Planet Finance Ouest Afrique leads this initiative.

Cape Verde
A new Country Gateway in Cape Verde is in planning. It aims to promote the country through information on trade and tourism, and to further Cape Verde’s growing Internet economy. The Cape Verde Development Gateway will be led by Virtual Cape Verde.



Kenya Development Gateway
The Kenya Development Gateway offers a number of services on its Web site, including a small and medium enterprise database, information about investing in Kenya, trade policies, industry profiles, and a portal entirely in Kiswahili. It also offers ICT related seminars for interested members of the community. The Kenya Development Gateway is coordinated by the Africa Center for Economic Growth.

Mali
Initiatives Mali provides a Web site focused on local initiatives, opportunities, and interaction for development. The site includes bulletin boards and information on agriculture, new projects, NGO activities, and Mali’s international partnerships. Initiatives Mali is a collaborative effort coordinated by Axe Formation.

Mauritania
The Portail Mauritainien du Developpement offers news, event information, and documents about agriculture, fishing, health, education, tourism, and ICT. The site includes an online bulletin for business and job announcements, database links and more. This gateway is an association of many partners, coordinated by the government of Mauritania.

Mauritius
A new Country Gateway in Mauritius is in the planning stage. It will support online interaction and knowledge sharing among academia, the private sector, and other local and international professionals in the development community, including investors. This initiative is being coordinated by the National Computer Board.



Rwanda
Rwanda Development Gateway (RDG) is the premier information network and platform for knowledge sharing and communication among development stakeholders in Rwanda, including the government, the private sector, civil society, academia, and local communities. RDG also provides Web site development services to all major government agencies and other customers. RDG is a permanent center of the National University of Rwanda.

Senegal
The Development Gateway Sénégal provides extensive information on Senegalese development in five thematic areas: economic growth, gender, vulnerable groups, basic social services, and good governance. The site also provides links to detailed information on government departments, services, and policies. This gateway partnership is coordinated by Planet Finance.

Tanzania
Tanzania Development Gateway provides a Web site and related services to support local people and businesses in their development efforts. Services include the Tanzania Business Portal, a database of civil society organizations, a development projects database, and two portals dedicated to women and indigenous knowledge. Tanzania’s Economic and Social Research Foundation leads this gateway partnership.

Uganda
The Uganda Development Gateway (UgDG) provides geographic and development information on different regions of the country, as well as general information on development in Uganda. The organization sees a great need to disseminate information to address the needs of rural and urban disadvantaged communities, and to promote the development successes and experiences at the local, national, and international level. UgDG has several partners and works with the Makere University.

The mission of the South Asia Regional Development Gateway is to create a regional portal on development for South Asia through partnership, networking, and the exchange of knowledge and other resources. The main objectives are to create an online communication strategy and an effective network. Through partnerships with country gateways in the region the South Asia Regional Development Gateway serves as an Internet portal that provides development information and promotes its dissemination throughout Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh
The Bangladesh Development Gateway Foundation promotes knowledge and collaboration to improve the lives of Bangladeshi citizens and eliminate poverty. Its Web site provides access to general development information, with a focus on good governance, transparency, and community capacity building. The Bangladesh Development Gateway Foundation is a nonprofit organization with local and international partners.

India
The India Development Gateway provides products and services such as news, information on and analysis of development sectors in India, jobs, a tenders database, an online document database, online training, web hosting, e-commerce platform, consulting, and the customization and implementation of information solutions developed using open source software.

Nepal
The Nepal Development Gateway’s Web site offers information about Nepal and services to facilitate local development. These include a business incubation portal to encourage young graduates to set up businesses using ICT, directories for governmental and nongovernmental organizations, and online tools to convert Nepali measurements and type fonts. It will be the first Internet portal available in Nepali, thanks to the efforts of its coordinator, Yomari, Inc.

Sri Lanka
The Lanka Development Gateway (LkDG) is an online information center for business, development, and government services in Sri Lanka. It provides extensive practical and industry information on farming, ceramics, jewelry-making, and more. The site also provides online services such as certificates of origin issued to exporters, and current agricultural pricing and sales opportunities. LkDG is coordinated by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
