Aid Management

 IN FOCUS

Ethiopian Aid

Ethiopia was the first country to implement the Aid Management Platform (AMP) for better coordination of donor assistance. More than a technical solution, AMP supports a new, results-oriented approach to aid management that was outlined by donors and developing countries in the 2005 Paris Declaration on aid coordination and harmonization.

Aid Management

International aid provides a welcome boost to developing countries in critical areas — infrastructure, health, education, private sector development — but coordinating and managing aid for the greatest impact can be a huge challenge.

Development Gateway Foundation provides Web-based tools to increase transparency and efficiency in the aid management process.

Maximizing Impact

Governments with a robust capacity to track, analyze, and coordinate donor assistance are better able to allocate limited resources where they are needed most. Local groups can also benefit from online information sharing.

Development Gateway Foundation's Aid Management Platform (AMP), is a robust, Web-based information system for governments and their development partners. It offers a virtual platform to improve and streamline aid processes from planning, to execution, to monitoring and evaluation.

To help local aid and relief groups share information online, Development Gateway Foundation has also released free software called the Local Projects Database (LPD). At the global level, we work with major donor organizations to provide AiDA, the largest online directory of official development aid activities.
