Development Gateway Foundation convened a task force in 2005 to harmonize the e-government efforts of international organizations, initially focusing on the Latin America and Caribbean region. Called the
e-Government Effectiveness (eGe) Inter-Agency Task Force, the group aims to reduce the burden of coordination that is often placed on developing country governments and — ultimately — to maximize the impact of international assistance on e-government issues.
Task force members:
In addition to the eGe Web site for developing countries and e-government practitioners, the members are creating a private Web site to share information among themselves. The group is also making efforts to:
- Plan parallel field trips (missions) and joint workshops among task force members to avoid duplication of efforts.
- Leverage the core capacities of each institution.
- Reinforce individual programs that are already underway.
