dgCommunities is both a place to find knowledge resources for development and an interactive space where people share work, participate in discussions, and find peers and potential partners.

Depth and Variety of Knowledge Resources

The depth and variety of resources in dgCommunities reflects its
global membership and the strength of Development Gateway Foundation's knowledge partners.

• Links to more than 60,000 reports, best practice documents, events, websites, news items and other valuable resources submitted by community members — summarized and
  indexed for an integrated search.
• Regular feature articles in each community provided by the community guides.
• Special reports offering a cross-cutting view of a specific development issue, with hand-picked collections of
  resources from this site and partner organizations.
• Online discussion forums.
• Periodic online events for members only.

Member Services

dgCommunities is free and open to all. Anyone can search the
database, but registered members can also:

• Share work, useful information, reports or events
• Receive community e-newsletters
• Receive e-mail alerts about new content related to their
  topics of interest
• Post a professional profile in the member directory
• Search the member directory and create a contact list
• Contact members through an e-mail forwarding system
• Post comments about others’ content submissions, or in community discussion forums
• Participate in online events

Languages

The predominant language of content found in dgCommunities is English. The site can be navigated in Arabic, French and Spanish, with some content available and we hope to see more members post content in these languages as we add registration and other interactive capabilities.
